Latest Update:

The UP Lok Sabha Election Result 2024 for the eighty parliamentary seats of the state is out and has surprised everyone around the country. In Uttar Pradesh, the NDA has just won 36 seats in total, out of which 33 seats are won alone by the BJP. The INDI Alliance, which consisted of Samajwadi Party and Congress, has been successful in winning 43 seats in the state. Many are considering this as a huge loss to BJP, which resulted in refraining BJP from getting the majority in the Lok Sabha Election 2024.

In general elections 2019, BJP alone won 63 seats out of the total 80 parliamentary seats in Uttar Pradesh. SP, which was hardly able to win 5 seats in 2019, has won 37 seats this time. This has proved that the alliance of SP and Congress worked in the state, making the INDI Alliance easily win more than fifty percent of the total Lok Sabha seats.

In Uttar Pradesh, seven ministers of the central government have lost their Lok Sabha seats. Smriti Irani, Ajay Mishra Teni, Sanjeev Baliyan, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Kaushal Kishore, and Bhanu Pratap Verma were defeated by the candidates of INDI Alliance. PM Modi won the election from his lok sabha seat Varanasi by 1.52 lakhs votes, which is comparatively lower than 2019. In 2019, PM Modi won the election by 4.27 lakhs votes.

BJP defeat on the Faizabad (Ayodhya) seat shows that the charm of Ram Mandir didn’t work in the favor of Uttar Pradesh. After the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in January 2024, BJP was expecting its benefits on all the 543 seats, but this expectation led to disappointment. BJP candidate Lallu Singh got defeated by SP candidate on the Faizabad seat. But the reel life Ram, Arun Govil, who played the role of lord Rama in the most popular TV show Ramayana, won from the Meerut Lok Sabha seat with 10 thousand votes.

The results of the Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha Election 2024 have made the BJP think about the reasons for its losses on the majority of the seat. Also, the INDI Alliance parties, SP and Congress, are now intended to work more on its strategies and planning and are aiming for the upcoming vidhan sabha elections.

In the following table, we have shared the seat wise breakdown of all the eighty parliamentary seats of Uttar Pradesh won by NDA, INDI alliance and others.
